Camden Market

Camden Market is one of London’s most popular tourist destinations, especially amongst the younger crowd. Over 100,000 people visit Camden Market every weekend. The hundreds of stalls sell crafts, clothes (both new and vintage) and antiques. Camden market, also known as Camden Lock  is in fact a collection of interconnecting markets, it is a popular hang out with the “alternative” crowd.

Interesting Historical Fact: The escalator at Camden Town Underground station passes through a vast grave for victims of the Great Plague of 1665.

Brick Lane Market

Broadway Market is a street market that specialises in food stalls and vintage clothes, and is one of London’s hippest markets. Running along a traditional London terraced road, Broadway market is located just to the south of London Fields in trendy Hackney, just up from the Regent’s Canal. Broadway market is a riot of colours and flavours.

Portobello Market in West London is one of the most famous street markets in the world. It is a popular destination for Londoners and tourists alike. Portobello Market is situated on Portobello Road. The market stretches for around two miles. Portobello Road goes straight through the heart of Notting Hill, a trendy area of London made famous by the film of the same name.
Portobello market has a number of distinct sections:
Antiques – from Chepstow Villas to Elgin Crescent
Fruit and Veg – from Elgin Crescent to Talbot Road
New Goods – Talbot Road to the Westway
Fashion Market – all along the Portobello Road but in particular near the Westway

Columbia Road Flower Market  is probably the most photogenic of all London’s markets.
Each Sunday this small London street, lined by Victorian houses and shops, is transformed into a spectacular flower market selling everything from tulips and orchids to huge bamboo plants and orange trees. It is a fantastic riot of colour, and the plants and flowers on offer are probably the cheapest in the whole of London.
The surrounding area is full of cafes and galleries and a wide range of unusual shops, turning the whole area into one of the most interesting shopping experiences to be had in London and a lovely place to spend a Sunday morning.

Petticoat Lane Market is a clothing and fashion market situated in the East End of London. It is one of London’s oldest markets dating back to the 17th century.
It is open every day except Saturday.

Borough Market

Borough Market is London’s premier gourmet food market. Located by the River Thames close to London Bridge Borough Market is London’s oldest fruit and veg market. There has  been a food market in the area for over 1000 years. Borough market is now home to over 100 stalls selling fresh produce from all over the British Isles. including fish, meats, vegetables, fruits, ciders, cheeses, breads, and cakes It has a vibrant and friendly community feel and is a great place to sample good food and also take some lovely photos. As well as food stalls there are also lots of restaurants and bars in the surrounding streets. You can combine a trip here with a visit to Londons scariest tourist attraction, the London Dungeons, which are close by. Or if horror isn’t your thing you can take a walk along the Thames Path.
