It is the most pleasant thing in life to take a bus from Changsha, Hunan to Guilin, Guangxi to enjoy the most beautiful scenery in the world. Not to mention that it is during the period of studying in college when the desire for knowledge is the strongest in life. This is the best part of Private tours in China 2025 with CET agency

Before that, I was fortunate to read some relevant historical materials and mailing texts. Guilin, Guangxi has a long history, beautiful scenery, and a long history. It is famous both at home and abroad and has always been known as “the best landscape in the world”. This time, I want to see it with my own eyes and verify it in person!
This is my first time to come to Guilin. Looking forward and backward, looking far and near, everything feels magical. Comparing the pictures and texts with the real scene, it is indeed well-deserved. Look at the mountains: thousands of peaks stand in a row, rising from the ground, with strange shapes and beautiful shapes. There are caves in the mountains and water in the caves. The scenery in the caves, the water reflects the lights, and it is dazzling and colorful. Look at the water, it is as clear as a mirror, clear to the bottom, rippling softly, and a bright mirror hanging upside down. Guilin’s landscape has long been a popular destination for visitors from afar, leaving behind many confusing legends, popular poems and inscriptions.

I remember someone summed up the uniqueness of “Guilin Landscape” in four sentences and twelve words: “Beautiful mountains, clear rivers, strange caves, and beautiful stones.” Comparing them with each other and appreciating them carefully, there are indeed some general outlines and highlights.
Who would have thought that the entire city of Guilin is located on both sides of the clear water of the Li River and among the green mountains? Stone houses and wooden buildings, flowers, grass, bamboo, and endless strange peaks and rocks are lined up one after another. The most famous ones are the “Diecai Mountain” with its twists and turns and its majestic momentum: “The waves of the river are rippling like a green silk belt, and the rocks are bright like a jade ring”; the “Fubo Mountain” known as the “precious pearl mirror”: “Standing alone between heaven and earth”; the “Duxiufeng” known as the “ladder to heaven”; the “Elephant Trunk Hill” which is rich in Guilin Sanhua Liquor and has a lifelike image; the “Camel Hill” and “Old Man Hill” which are vivid and lifelike; the “Crescent Mountain”, “Putuo Mountain”, “Ta Mountain”, “Chuan Mountain”, “West Mountain” and “Nanxi Mountain” with beautiful scenery and magical postures, etc., and there are many names and too many to list.
What is pleasing to the eye is that on each famous mountain, not only the natural scenery is beautiful, but also there are many precious stone carvings, poems and inscriptions left by the ancients. There are also stone towers and bamboo pavilions, wooden bridges and brick buildings, thatched cottages and teahouses with ancient cultural charm, which embellish the Guilin landscape more magnificently.
Located in the city center, Diecai Mountain is like an elegant picture and text museum. There are 23 niches and 98 statues of cliff carvings from the Tang and Song dynasties; 153 stone carvings, and a large number of inscriptions, poems and paintings. The more famous ones include “Diecai Mountain” and “Siwang Mountain Records” by Yuan Hui of the Tang Dynasty, the poems by Lu Zhairen and Zhang Pei of the Ming Dynasty, and the orchid and bamboo painting by Li Bingshou of the Qing Dynasty. There is a unique stone tower hidden in the Mulong Cave under Diecai Mountain. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. The tower is 4.34 meters high and is divided into four parts: the tower base, the tower body, the tower neck, and the top lamp. The tower base is composed of three drum-shaped stone cakes, and the cake walls are engraved with cicada wings and upturned lotus; the tower body shrinks from top to bottom into a drum shape, with statues on all four sides; the tower neck is a twelve-phase wheel with six stone holes, and the top umbrella is in the shape of a cover, with copper bells hanging around it. The building is simple and generous.
Fubo Mountain has a long-standing reputation. It became a famous scenic spot in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Over the past thousands of years, many cliff statues and stone carvings have been left behind. In front of the “Sword Testing Stone” in Huanzhu Cave, there are 239 Tang Dynasty stone carvings, and 116 stone carvings since the Tang and Song Dynasties. Most of these cultural relics are travel-related titles, poems, scenery descriptions, minutes, poems, characters, orchids and bamboos, etc. There is a stone pavilion at the waist of Fubo Mountain. According to legend, in the early years, Guilin General Ma Yan drew his bow and shot a crossbow here, and shot through the Bijia Mountain and Qingtian Mountain in front with a magic arrow, and split the Li River into two places, so it was named “Shenjian Pavilion”.
In the Tang Dynasty, there was a Xiqinglin Temple in Xishan, where there were many modern statues. There are 77 niches and 213 statues. Its statues are similar to the ancient Indian Bodhgaya Dajue Pagoda. Now, by comparing and studying, it is felt that the early Tang Buddhist art works are indeed of great academic value.
There are 191 stone carvings in Putuo Mountain since the Tang Dynasty. In addition to the titles of travelogues, some famous poems and essays record events, describe scenery, and express emotions. For example, Yan Su’s title in the Song Dynasty, Liang Anshi’s “Xijiangyue” lyrics, Xie Qikun’s “Visiting Qixingyan” in the Qing Dynasty, and Qiao Lai’s “Qixingyan Notes”, are all masterpieces that depict the magnificent mountains and rivers of the motherland.
Going to Qixingyan, Putuo Mountain, Moon Mountain, and Camel Mountain, you will pass a stone bridge called Huaqiao, also known as Jiaxi Bridge and Tianzhu Bridge. It was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty and expanded in the 19th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1540). The bridge is 125 meters long, the arch is 7.20 meters high, and the stone arch is 1.10 meters high. It combines stone and wood, adopts a firewood raft foundation, the approach bridge has a small slope, thin piers, a large span, and a stable bridge body. The whole bridge is simple and generous, solid and magnificent, fully demonstrating the high wisdom and rich talents of the ancient working people.
In addition to the beautiful mountains and clear rivers, Guilin is also worth remembering for its strange caves and beautiful stones. Almost everyone who visits here will go to the magical cave masterpieces “Reed Flute Cave” and “Seven Star Cave”, and no one will not be intoxicated and tempted by its wonderful fairyland.
Some people say that “Reed Flute Cave” is named because there are reeds growing near the entrance of the cave, which can be used to make reed flutes with clear and beautiful sounds. Seven Star Cave is named because there are seven hills standing on the ground, like seven stars in the sky. According to scientific principles, there were originally two underground river channels here. Due to the movement of the earth’s crust and the great changes in the sea, they gradually rose and became caves. Over the years, rainwater has continuously infiltrated, dissolving the carbonates in the rocks, and then crystallized in the cave, naturally forming many stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone tables, stone benches, stone curtains, stone flowers, etc., with various shapes, fantastic and changeable, colorful and spectacular.
